[§346-1.7]  Early childhood educationfacilities; pre-plus.  (a)  There is established the pre-plus programwithin the department to expand access to affordable and high-quality earlychildhood education for three- to four-year-old children from low-incomefamilies, by allowing preschool programs to be established on public schoolcampuses through public-private partnerships.

(b)  The department and the department ofeducation shall work collaboratively to develop suitable pre-plus classrooms ondepartment of education campuses statewide, including conversion charter schoolcampuses.  The department, with the department of education, shall coordinatesite selection for additional pre-plus programs at public school sites, withpriority given to public school sites that serve at-risk children as defined insection 302L-1, including sites located in areas with limited access to earlylearning programs and services.
