§346-46  Certified nurse aides; trainingprograms and recertification.  The director shall:

(1)  Approve training programs for nurse aides andensure that the training programs comply with all applicable federal and staterequirements;

(2)  Approve and arrange for the recertificationprocess for nurse aides who work in medicare or medicaid certified nursingfacilities;

(3)  Approve and arrange for the recertificationprocess for nurse aides who work in state-licensed or state-certified healthcare settings; and

(4)  Require recertification not less than every twoyears.  The number of continuing education hours required for recertificationshall not exceed twenty-four hours, except as specified by federal law. [L2007, c 226, pt of §3; am L 2009, c 108, §2]
