§346-84  Purchase of service.  Thedepartment is authorized to negotiate the purchase of day care services forelder disabled and aged recipients, including other social services fromindividuals or other organizations, institutions, or agencies.  Such othersocial services must be necessary and essential to maximize the functioning andwell-being of the recipient.  Purchase of day care center services shallinclude but not be limited to services that enhance the social functioning ofeach participant, promote and develop activities in daily living and personalindependence by therapeutic arts and crafts, community excursions, hobbycultivation, group dynamics and provisions for counseling to the participantsand their families.
