§347-6  Registration of blind.  Thedepartment of human services shall cause to be maintained a complete registerof the blind in the State which shall describe the condition, causes ofblindness, capacity for education and industrial training, and such other factsas may seem to it to be of value regarding each blind person, together withrecommendations for rehabilitation and relief.

It shall register cases of persons whoseeyesight is seriously defective or who are likely to become visuallyhandicapped or blind, and take such measures in cooperation with otherauthorities, as it deems advisable for the prevention of blindness orconservation of eyesight, and in appropriate cases provide for or secure thevocational guidance of persons having seriously defective sight.
