[§353C-6]  Parking fees, exemption. Notwithstanding any other law, rule, or provision to the contrary, specialservice deputies of the department of public safety are exempt from all stateand county parking meter fees and county time parking restrictions while in theperformance of their official duties, including attendance at court; providedthat this exemption shall:

(1)  Apply exclusively to state owned law enforcementvehicles assigned to the department of public safety; and

(2)  Not apply to private individuals retained by thedepartment on a contractual basis to serve civil process in any capacity. [L1992, c 80, §1]
