§353C-7 - Federal reimbursement maximization special fund.
[§353C-7] Federal reimbursementmaximization special fund. (a) There is established in the state treasurythe federal reimbursement maximization special fund, into which shall bedeposited all federal reimbursements received by the department relating to theState Criminal Alien Assistance Program. Unless otherwise provided by law, allother receipts shall immediately be deposited to the credit of the general fundof the State.
(b) Moneys in the federal reimbursementmaximization special fund shall be used by the department to meet the statematch requirement for federal grants and costs associated with federal grantreporting requirements, including administrative expenses such as the creationand hiring of temporary staff; and for any other purpose deemed necessary bythe department for maintaining existing federal grants as well as pursuingfederal grants.
(c) The department shall prepare and submit anannual report on the status of the federal reimbursement maximization specialfund to the legislature no later than twenty days before the convening of eachregular session. The annual report shall include but not be limited to adescription of the use of the funds. [L 2001, c 172, §1]
