ยง372-3ย Standards for agreements.ย "Standards for apprenticeship agreements" are as follows:
(1)ย A statement of the trade or craft to be taughtand the required months or hours for completion of apprenticeship which shallbe not less than twelve months or two thousand hours of reasonably continuousemployment;
(2)ย A statement of the processes in the trade orcraft divisions in which the apprentice is to be taught and the approximateamount of time to be spent at each process;
(3)ย A statement of the number of hours to be spent inrelated instruction which shall not be less than one hundred and forty-fourhours per year; provided that the department of labor and industrial relationsmay, in the best interest of apprenticeship, reduce the hours of related instruction;
(4)ย A statement that apprentices shall be not lessthan sixteen years of age;
(5)ย A statement of the progressively increasing scaleof wages to be paid the apprentice;
(6)ย Provision for a period of probation during whichthe director of labor and industrial relations shall be directed to terminatean apprenticeship agreement at the request in writing of any party thereto;
(7)ย Provision that after the probationary period thedirector may terminate an apprenticeship agreement upon agreement of theparties thereto;
(8)ย Provision that the services of the department maybe utilized for consultation regarding the settlement of differences arisingout of the apprenticeship agreement where the differences cannot be adjustedlocally or in accordance with the established trade procedure;
(9)ย Provision to specify the ratio of apprentice tojourney worker;
(10)ย Provision that if an employer is unable tofulfill the employer's obligation under the apprenticeship agreement, theemployer may transfer the obligation to another employer;
(11)ย Such additional standards as may be prescribed inaccordance with this chapter.
An apprentice who, prior to entering into anagreement, has had training or experience or both in the trade or craft inwhich the apprentice is employed as an apprentice may be granted full orpartial credit for the training or experience on the recommendation of theemployer or the joint apprenticeship committee with the approval of thedirector.
