CHAPTER 21

CONSOLIDATION OF CITIES

50-2106. Results of election certified to secretary of state. [effective until january 1, 2011] When upon canvassing of the votes, it is determined that a majority of the qualified electors in each of the cities favor consolidation, the clerks of such cities shall, by abstract of results of election, certify that fact to the board of county commissioners. The clerk of such board shall thereupon record the same and transmit the said original abstract of the result of said election to the office of the secretary of state. Said original abstract shall be filed by the secretary of state in his office immediately upon receiving the same and certificates of the filing of such original abstract in his office shall be transmitted forthwith to the clerk of such board of county commissioners and to the clerks of each of the cities in which such election was held.

The county clerk shall transmit the original abstract of the results of the election to the board of county commissioners. The county clerk shall thereupon transmit the original abstract of the results of the election to the office of the secretary of state. Upon receipt of the original abstract, the secretary of state shall transmit to the county clerk a certificate indicating that the original abstract has been received and filed in his office.
