Chapter 1. Indiana-Kentucky Boundary Compact

Boundary
Sec. 1. Upon the approval and consent of the Congress of theUnited States to the compact hereby effected, the boundary linebetween the State of Indiana and the Commonwealth of Kentucky isas follows:
Commencing at a point on the line between Sections 15 and 14,Township 7 South, Range 10 West, and 67.25 chains south of thenortheast corner of Section 15, the same being the beginning point inthe description of the part of the boundary line as fixed by theSupreme Court of the United States in Indiana v. Kentucky, decidedMay 18, 1896, and reported in 163 U.S. Reports 520, thence south 0degrees 53 minutes 15 seconds west to the low water mark on theright side of the Ohio River and thence upstream at low water markon the right side of the Ohio River. Also beginning at the samebeginning point to-wit: The beginning point in the description of thepart of the boundary line between the State of Indiana and theCommonwealth of Kentucky as fixed by the Supreme Court in 163U.S. 520 and following that line to the end of so much of theboundary line as was fixed by the decree; thence due west to the lowwater mark on the right side of the Ohio River and thencedownstream with the low water mark on the right side of the river.

Filing of compact
Sec. 2. Upon the approval and consent of the Congress of theUnited States to the compact hereby effected:
(1) evidence of the compact, together with the survey and reportof the commissioners by whom the boundary line was agreedupon, shall be filed in the office of the secretary of state; and
(2) a copy of the compact, survey, and report shall be filed inthe office of the recorder of Vanderburgh County, Indiana.
