Chapter 20.--COURTS
Article 28.--FINES, PENALTIES AND FORFEITURES

      20-2801.   Disposition of fines, penaltiesand forfeitures.(a) The clerk of thedistrict court shall remit allmoneys payable to the state treasurer from fines,penalties and forfeitures to the statetreasurerin accordance with the provisions of K.S.A.75-4215, and amendments thereto. Upon receipt of each such remittance,the state treasurer shall deposit the entire amount in thestate treasuryto the credit of the state general fund, except as provided in K.S.A.74-7336, and amendments thereto.

      (b)   In order to determine the amount of moneys available pursuant tothis section, the director of accounts and reports or the state treasurer,whenever it is deemed necessary by either of such officers, may requestthe clerk of the district court to provide such information as provided inthis section.Within 10 days of the receipt of any such request,such clerk shall certify the amount of moneyscollected pursuant to this section tothe director of accounts andreports and the state treasurer.

      (c)   This section shall not apply to municipal courts.
