Chapter 21.--CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS

Article 37.--CRIMES AGAINST PROPERTY

      21-3749.   Dealing in pirated recordings. (a) Dealing in piratedrecordings is selling or offering for saleor distributing or possessing for the purpose of sale or distribution, anyarticleproduced in violation of K.S.A. 21-3748 and amendments thereto, knowing orhavingreasonable grounds to know that such article was produced in violationof law.

      (b)   Dealing in pirated recordings is:

      (1)   A class A nonperson misdemeanor if the offense involvesless than seven audiovisual recordings, or less than 100 sound recordings during a 180-day period;or

      (2)   a severity level 9, nonperson felony if theoffense involves seven or more audio visualrecordings, or 100 or more sound recordings during a 180-day period.
