Chapter 23.--DOMESTIC RELATIONS

Article 9.--UNIFORM INTERSTATE FAMILY SUPPORT ACT

      23-9,206.   Enforcement and modification of support order by tribunal havingcontinuing jurisdiction.(a) A tribunal of this state may serve as an initiatingtribunalto request a tribunal of another state to enforce or modify a support orderissued in that state.

      (b)   A tribunal of this state having continuing, exclusive jurisdiction overa support order may act as a responding tribunal to enforce or modify theorder. If a party subject to the continuing, exclusive jurisdiction of thetribunal no longer resides in the issuing state, in subsequent proceedings thetribunal may apply K.S.A. 23-9,316 and amendments thereto (special rules ofevidence andprocedure) to receive evidence from another state and K.S.A. 23-9,318 andamendments thereto (assistance with discovery) to obtain discovery through atribunal of anotherstate.

      (c)   A tribunal of this state which lacks continuing, exclusive jurisdictionover a spousal support order may not serve as a responding tribunal to modify aspousal support order of another state.
