Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 1.--GENERAL PROVISIONS

      24-118.   Same; payment of drainage-district funds to countytreasurer; maintenance fund; outstanding bonds.When the board of directors of any drainage district shall have passed aresolution as provided in K.S.A. 24-117 they shall cause acopy of said resolution to be certified and delivered to the board ofcounty commissioners of the county in which said drainage district, or amajor portion thereof, shall be situate. Upon the filing of suchresolution with the board of county commissioners of such county, theboard of commissioners shall cause said resolution to be spread upon theminutes in the office of the county clerk of such county.

      After the spreading of said resolution upon the records in the officeof the county clerk, the board of commissioners of such county shalldirect the payment of all funds held by the treasurer of such drainagedistrict to the county treasurer, and when so directed the treasurer ofsuch drainage district shall pay said funds to the county treasurer, tobe held for the use and benefit of said district by said countytreasurer and subject to the order of the board of commissioners of saidcounty. Said board of commissioners of such county may direct that suchportion of said funds as may be necessary to provide for maintenance ofdrainage ditches and work in said district shall be set aside in amaintenance fund, and may direct that any funds not necessary for suchmaintenance may be used to purchase or acquire the outstanding bonds, ifany, of such drainage district.
