Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 1.--GENERAL PROVISIONS

      24-140.   Transfer of territory; definitions.As used in this section andK.S.A. 2009 Supp.24-141 through 24-143, andamendments thereto:

      (a)   "Drainage district" means any drainage district organized andincorporated pursuant to chapter 24 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, andamendments thereto.

      (b)   "County" means the county in which the territoryis located.

      (c)   "Territory" means land and any improvements thereon located within theboundaries of a drainage district which is sought to be detached from suchdrainage district and attached to an adjacent drainage district.

      (d)   "Governing body" means the governing body of a drainage district.

      (e)   "Board" means the board of county commissioners of the county in whichthe territory, or any portion thereof, is located.

      (f)   "Transfer" means the detachment of territory from a drainage district andthe attachment of such territory to an adjacent drainage district.
