Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 5.--DRAINAGE IN VALLEY OF NATURAL WATERCOURSE

      24-522.   Prevention of overflow of natural watercourse.The board of directors shall have charge of all embankments and otherworks or improvements constructed to prevent the overflow of any naturalwatercourse within their respective districts, and to protect and repairthe same shall have power to employ guards and laborers, and to protect andsuperintend such work as may by them be deemed necessary, but all moneyexpended for such purpose shall only be paid out of the general fundprovided by the levy of a general tax on all the property of the districtas hereinbefore authorized.
