Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES Article 6.--DRAINAGE IN ONE OR MORE COUNTIES

24-627. Scope of act.None of the provisions of this act shall be construed as repealing or inany wise modifying the provisions of any other act relating to the subjectof draining, reclaiming, or protecting swamp, overflowed, or submergedlands. Nothing herein contained shall be deemed to authorize any person orpersons to divert the water of any river, creek, stream, canal, or ditchfrom its channel to the detriment of any person or persons having anyinterest in such river, creek, stream, canal, or ditch, or the waterstherein, unless previous compensation be ascertained and paid therefor,under the laws of this state authorizing the taking of private property forpublic use.
