Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 6.--DRAINAGE IN ONE OR MORE COUNTIES

      24-630.   Subdistrict where land separated from drainage; petition.If any person who owns land within the drainage district which has beenassessed for benefits and which is separated from the ditch, drain orwatercourse for which it has been assessed, by the land of another orothers, shall desire to ditch or drain his said land across the land ofsuch other or others into such ditch, drain or watercourse and shall beunable to agree with such other or others on the terms and conditions onwhich he may enter upon their lands and construct such drain or ditch, hemay proceed in the manner in this act provided, and the ditch or drainwhich he shall construct or cause to be constructed shall be considered tobe conducive to the public health, welfare, convenience and utility topromote which said drainage district was established.

      He may file his petition with the clerk of the district court asking thesaid court to establish a subdistrict within the limits of the originaldistrict for the purpose of securing more complete drainage, describing thelands to be affected thereby by metes and bounds or otherwise so as toconvey an intelligent description of such lands; and all proceedings shallbe the same as herein provided for the establishment, formation andconstruction of original districts and improvements thereof including theassessment of damages, the assessment of benefits and when established andconstructed, it shall be and become a part of the drainage system of suchdrainage district and be under the control and supervision of the board ofsupervisors.
