Chapter 25.--ELECTIONS
Article 3.--INDEPENDENT AND OTHER NOMINATION CERTIFICATES; TERMS OF OFFICE; FILLING VACANCIES

      25-306a.   Withdrawal of candidacy; procedure and deadline for withdrawal;omission of name from ballot.Any person who has been nominated to be a candidate at any primary election forany national, state, county or township office may cause such person's name tobe withdrawn from nomination by a request in writing, signed by the personnominated and acknowledged before an officer qualified to take acknowledgmentsof deeds, and filed with the secretary of state in the case of national andstate offices or with the county election officer in the case of county andtownship offices not later than 12:00 noon, on the day fixed for the deadlinefor filing of a petition for nomination or the declaration of intent to becomea candidate in accordance with K.S.A. 25-205, and amendments thereto. No nameso withdrawn shall be printed on the ballots for such office for such primaryelection.
