Chapter 25.--ELECTIONS
Article 3.--INDEPENDENT AND OTHER NOMINATION CERTIFICATES; TERMS OF OFFICE; FILLING VACANCIES

      25-318.   Vacancy in office of United States senator; how filled.When a vacancy shall occur in the office of United States senator fromthis state, the governor shall make a temporary appointment to fill suchvacancy until the next election of representatives in congress, at whichtime such vacancy shall be filled by election, and the senator so electedshall take office as soon thereafter as he shall receive his certificate ofelection.
