Chapter 25.--ELECTIONS
Article 41.--ELECTION CAMPAIGN FINANCE; GENERAL

      25-4144.   Appointment of campaign treasurer or candidate committee;reports to secretary of state and county election officer; governorcandidate's responsibilities.Not later than 10 days after becoming a candidate, every candidateshall appoint a treasurer or in lieu thereof shall appoint a candidatecommittee. The treasurer so appointed may be the candidate making suchappointment. Nocandidate shall appoint more than one candidate committee to exist atthe same time. If a candidate appoints a candidate committee, suchcandidate shall appoint a chairperson and a treasurer thereof, and thetreasurer so appointed may be the candidate. No person who is registered asa lobbyist in accordance with K.S.A. 46-265 and amendments theretoshall be eligible for appointment as treasurer for any candidate or candidatecommittee. The name and address ofeach treasurer and chairperson appointed under this section by acandidate for a state office shall bereported to the secretary of state by the candidate not later than10 days after such appointment. The name and address of eachtreasurer and chairperson appointed under this section by a candidate for alocal office shall be reported to the county election officer by thecandidate not later than 10 days after such appointment. The candidatefor governor shall carry outthe requirements and responsibilities of the candidate under the campaignfinance act,for the pair of candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, unlessanother specific provision applies.
