Chapter 25.--ELECTIONS
Article 44.--ELECTRONIC AND ELECTROMECHANICAL VOTING SYSTEMS

      25-4407.   Same; acquisition of systems.(a) When a board of commissioners and county election officer havedetermined that such a voting system shall be used in a county, the board ofcounty commissioners and the county election officer shall provide such numberof units as shall be necessary to equip voting places for the use of voters.

      (b)   No tax shall be levied under this section, nor shall anymoneysbepaidfrom any fund under authority of this section for any contract to purchase,lease or rent any electronic or electromechanical voting system or equipmentthereof, if approval of such system or equipment has been rescinded by thesecretary of state.

      (c)   The secretary of state may purchase, rent or lease voting equipmentonly for the purpose of providing such equipment to counties pursuant to theprovisions of the help America vote act of 2002.
