Chapter 27.--FEDERAL JURISDICTION
Article 2.--PAYMENTS IN LIEU OF TAXES

      27-206.   Agreements by subdivisions with United States.If the United States declines to deal with a board of countycommissioners with respect to any political subdivision whosejurisdictional limits are within or co-extensive with the limits of thecounty, or in the event the jurisdictional limits of a politicalsubdivision lie within more than one county, that political subdivision isauthorized to make requests of the United States for such payments in lieuof taxes as the United States may agree to pay. Such political subdivisionis hereby empowered to enter into agreements with the United States for theperformance by the political subdivision of services for the benefit of aproject and for the payment by the United States to the politicalsubdivision, in one or more installments, of sums in lieu of taxes.
