Chapter 28.--FEES AND SALARIES
Article 1.--FEES IN ALL COUNTIES AND SALARIES IN CERTAIN COUNTIES

      28-170a.   Prosecuting attorneys' training fund;fees.(a) There is hereby established a prosecuting attorneys' training fund.The clerk of the district court shall charge a fee of $1in each criminal case, to be deducted from the docket fee as provided inK.S.A. 28-172a and amendments thereto and shallcharge a fee of $1 in each case pursuant to the revised Kansas code forcare ofchildren or the revised Kansas juvenile justice code and eachmental illness, drug abuse or alcoholism treatment action asprovided by subsection (c) of K.S.A. 28-170 and amendments thereto. The clerkof thedistrict court, at least monthly, shall pay all such fees received tothe county treasurer who shall credit the same to the prosecutingattorneys' training fund.

      (b)   Expenditures from the prosecuting attorneys' training fund shallbe paid by the county treasurer upon the order of the county or districtattorney and shall be used exclusively for the training of personnel insuch attorney's office and costs related thereto. Annually, on orbefore March 15, each county and district attorney shall submit to theattorney general and the chairperson of the judiciary committee of eachhouse, an accounting that shows for the preceding year the amount offees paid into the prosecuting attorneys' training fund, the amounts andpurpose of each expenditure from such fund and the balance in such fundon December 31 of the preceding year. The purpose for eachexpenditure shall specifically identify the person or personsfor whom the expenditure was made and, where applicable, the time andplace where the training was received. If any expenditure was paid to anonprofit organization organized in this state of which the county ordistrict attorney is a member, the county or district attorney shallinclude information on the training received for such expenditure whichinformation shall show the persons receiving the training and the timeand place thereof.
