Chapter 31.--FIRE PROTECTION
Article 6.--FIRE SAFETY STANDARDS FOR CIGARETTES

      31-607.   Same; powers and duties of director oftaxation.(a) The director, in the regular course of conducting inspections ofwholesale dealers,agents, retaildealers or vending machine operators, as authorized under the Kansas cigaretteand tobaccoproducts act or other statestatutes, rules, or regulations, may inspect such cigarettes to determine ifthe cigarettes are markedas required byK.S.A. 2009 Supp.31-605, and amendments thereto. If thecigarettes are not marked as required, thedirector may seize such contraband with or without process or warrant and shallnotify the state firemarshal.

      (b)   The provisions of this section shall take effect and be in force from andafter July 1, 2009.
