Chapter 32.--WILDLIFE, PARKS AND RECREATION
Article 11.--BOATING AND WATER ACTIVITIES

      32-1177.   Accident reports.(a) It shall be the duty of the operator of a vessel involved in acollision, accident or other casualty, so far as theoperator can do so withoutserious danger to the operator's own vessel, crew, andpassengers (if any), to renderto other persons affected by the collision, accident or other casualtysuch assistance as practicable and as necessary in order tosave them from or minimize any danger caused by the collision, accident orother casualty, and also to give the operator's name,address and identification of the operator's vessel, in writing, to any personinjured and to the owner of anyproperty damaged in the collision, accident or other casualty.

      (b)   In the case of collision, accident or other casualty involving avessel, the operator thereof, if the collision, accident or other casualtyresults in death or injury to a person or damage to property in excess of theamount established by rules and regulations of the secretaryshall file with thedepartment a fulldescription of the collision, accident or other casualty, including suchadditional information asrequired by rules and regulations adopted by the secretary pursuant toK.S.A. 32-805 and amendments thereto.
