Article 18.--ABOLISHMENT OF CORPORATION FOR CHANGE; CITIZEN REVIEW BOARDS
38-1817.Family and children trust account transferred to SRS.On and after July 1, 1997:
(a) Whenever the corporation forchange, or words of like effect, is referred to or designated by a statute,contract or other document, and such reference relates to the family andchildren trust account of the family and children investment fund, suchreference or designation shall be deemed toapply to the department of social and rehabilitation services.
(b) Whenever the executivedirectoror the chairperson of the board of directors of the corporation for change, orwords of like effect, is referred to or designated by a statute, contract orother document,and such reference relates to the family and children trust account of thefamily and children investment fund, such reference or designation shall be deemed to apply to thesecretary of social and rehabilitation services.
(c) All orders and directives of the corporation for change or of theexecutive director or the chairperson of the board of directors of thecorporation for change which are in existence on the effective date of this actand which relate to the family and children trust account of the family andchildren investment fund, shallcontinue to be effective and shall be deemed to be orders and directives of thedepartment of social and rehabilitation services until revised, amended ornullified pursuant to law.
(d) The department of social andrehabilitation services shall succeed to whatever right, title or interest thecorporation for change hasacquired in any real property in this state with moneys from the family andchildren trust account of the family and children investment fund, and thedepartment of social and rehabilitation services shall hold thesame for and in the name of the state of Kansas. On and after the effectivedate of this act, whenever any statute, contract, deed or other documentconcerns the power or authority of the corporation for change or of theexecutive director or the chairperson of the board of directors of thecorporation for change to acquire, hold or dispose of real property or anyinterest therein and such power or authority relates to the children and familytrust account of the family and children investment fund or to real property orany interest therein acquired with moneys from such account prior to theeffective date of this act, the department of social and rehabilitationservices shallsucceed to such power orauthority.
