Chapter 38.--MINORS
Article 22.--REVISED KANSAS CODE FOR CARE OF CHILDREN

      38-2239.   Service of other pleadings.(a) Proceedings upon filing. Upon the filing of asubsequent pleading, other than a petition, indicating the necessity for ahearing, the court shall fixthe time and place for the hearing.

      (b)   Notice. The notice of hearing shall be given by theclerk, unless otherwise ordered bythe court. The notice shall be dated the day it is issued, contain the name ofthe court and the captionin the case.

      (c)   Notification by first class mail. Unless other provisions ofthis code expressly require serviceof process, notice of motions and other pleadings filed subsequent to thepetition in connection withthe case and any hearings to be held on such motions or other pleadings may beprovided by firstclass mail, postage prepaid, to any party or interested party who has beenserved in accordance withK.S.A. 2009 Supp.38-2237, and amendments thereto. Such notice shall be sent tothe lastaddress provided to thecourt by the party or interested party in question. Failure to appear shall notinvalidate notice by firstclass mail. Notice by mail is not required if the court orally notifies aparty or interested party of thetime and place of the hearing.
