Chapter 38.--MINORS
Article 22.--REVISED KANSAS CODE FOR CARE OF CHILDREN

      38-2281.   Family services and community interventionfund; child in need of care, purpose of expenditure of moneys.There is hereby established in the statetreasury the familyservices and community intervention fund which shall be administered by thesecretary. Thesecretary may accept money from any source for the purposes for which money inthe familyservices and community intervention fund may be expended. Moneys received shallbe remitted to the statetreasurer in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 75-4215, and amendmentsthereto. Upon receipt of each such remittance, the state treasurer shalldeposit the entire amount in the state treasury to the credit of the familyservices and communityintervention fund. All moneysin the family services and community intervention fund shall beused for the purpose ofassisting state, county or local governments or political subdivisionsthereof or communityagencies to provide services, intervention and support services to childrenalleged or adjudged tobe a child in need of care, especially those youthat risk because of such child's own actions or behaviors and not due to abuseorneglect by a parent,guardian or other person responsible for such child's care. The purpose of thefamilyservices andcommunity intervention fund shall be to enhance the ability of families andchildren to resolveproblems within the family and community by the collaboration of governmentaland local service providers that might otherwise result in a childbecoming subjectto the jurisdiction of the court. Allexpenditures from the family services and community intervention fund shall bemade in accordancewith appropriation acts upon warrants of the director of accounts and reportsissued pursuant tovouchers approved by the secretary or by a person or persons designated by thesecretary.
