Chapter 38.--MINORS
Article 5.--DETENTION AND PARENTAL HOMES OR FARMS

      38-548.   Same; proceeds of tax levy into special fund.All taxes collected under the authority of this act, except for amountsto pay a portion of the principal and interest on bonds issued under theauthority of K.S.A. 12-1774, and amendments thereto, by citieslocated in the county, and all the proceedsof bonds issued under the authority of this act shall be paid over tothe county treasurer of the county in which such youth camp or home islocated or to be located. The county treasurer of such county shallplace said moneys in a special fund or funds and the same shall bedisbursed for the purposes for which the taxes were levied or the bondsissued in like manner as if all of such moneys had been derived from taxlevies or bonds issued by the county in which such youth camp or home islocated or to be located and in accordance with the agreement enteredinto by the participating counties. Such county treasurer shall executeto the state of Kansas a corporate surety bond issued by a companyauthorized to do business in the state of Kansas to be approved by theboard of directors in an amount fixed by such board at not less than oneand one-third times the maximum amount of moneys on hand at any time insuch special fund. The board of directors may apply for and accept agrant, gift or aid from the state or federal government or from anyprivate source, and if so accepted the same shall be deposited to thecredit of the special fund provided for in this section.
