Chapter 40.--INSURANCE
Article 12.--MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANIES OTHER THAN LIFE

      40-1225.   Same; construction of act; invalidity of part.(1) Nothing contained in this act shall be construed to enlarge thecharter powers of any insurance company except in conformity with theprovisions of the proposed articles of incorporation of the merged orconsolidated company as provided in this act, nor to authorize anyinsurance company to do any kind of insurance business not authorized byits charter or articles of incorporation, nor to authorize any insurancecompany to do any kind of insurance business in this state not authorizedby its license or certificate of authority to do business in this state.

      (2)   This act shall be construed as a part of and supplementary to theinsurance code of the state of Kansas.

      (3)   If any provision of this act, or the application of such provisionto any person or circumstances, shall be held invalid the remainder of theact, and the application of such provision to persons and circumstancesother than those as to which it is held invalid, shall not be affectedthereby.
