Article 22.--UNIFORM POLICY PROVISIONS

      40-2209b.   Small employer health care plans; purpose of act.The purpose and intent of this act are to promote the availability of healthinsurance coverage to small employers regardless of their health status orclaims experience, to prevent abusive rating practices, to require disclosureof rating practices to purchasers, to establish rules regarding renewability ofcoverage, to establish limitations on the use of pre-existing conditionexclusions, to provide for development of "basic" and "standard" health benefitplans to be offered to all small employers, to provide for establishment of areinsurance program, and to improve the overall fairness and efficiency of thesmall group health insurance market.
