Article 22.--UNIFORM POLICY PROVISIONS

      40-2228d.   Same; lapse or termination of policy orcertificate; requirements; notice.No long-term care policy or certificate shall lapse orbe terminated for nonpayment of premium unless the insurer, at least 30 daysbefore the effective date of the lapse or termination, has given notice byfirst-class mail to the insured at the insured's last known address and to anyperson designated by the insured pursuant to K.S.A. 40-2228b toreceive notice oflapse or termination. Notice shall not be given until 30 days after a premiumis due and unpaid and will be deemed to have been given five days after thedate of mailing.
