Chapter 40.--INSURANCE Article 22.--UNIFORM POLICY PROVISIONS

40-2250. Insurance coverage to include reimbursement for servicesperformed by advanced registered nurse practitioners.(a) Notwithstanding any provision of an individual or group policy orcontract forhealth and accident insurance delivered within the state, whenever such policyor contract shall provide for reimbursement for any services within the lawfulscope of practice of an advanced registered nurse practitioner within the stateof Kansas, the insured, or any other person covered by the policy or contract,shall be allowed and entitled to reimbursement for such service irrespective ofwhether it was provided or performed by a duly licensed physician or anadvanced registered nurse practitioner.

(b) Notwithstanding theprovisions of subsection (a), reimbursement shall be mandated withrespect to servicesperformed by an advanced registered nurse practitioner in Douglas, Johnson,Leavenworth, Sedgwick, Shawnee or Wyandotte counties.

(c) The provisions of subsection (b) shall expire on July 1, 1998.
