Article 24.--REGULATION OF CERTAIN TRADE PRACTICES
40-2402.Definitions.When used in this act:
(a) "Person" means any individual, corporation, association,partnership, reciprocal exchange, inter-insurer, Lloyd's insurer, fraternalbenefit society and any other legal entity engaged in the business ofinsurance, including agents, brokers and adjusters. Person also means anynonprofit medical and hospital servicecorporations, as defined in article 19c ofchapter 40 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, andamendments thereto; administrators, as defined in article 38 ofchapter 40 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, and amendments thereto; andhealth maintenance organizations, as defined in article 32 of chapter 40 ofthe Kansas Statutes Annotated, and amendments thereto.
(b) "Commissioner" means the commissioner of insurance of thisstate.
(c) "Insurance policy" or "insurance contract" means any contractof insurance, indemnity, medical or hospital service, suretyship orannuity issued, proposed for issuance or intended for issuance by anyperson.
