Chapter 40.--INSURANCE
Article 31.--KANSAS AUTOMOBILE INJURY REPARATIONS ACT

      40-3112.   Rehabilitation procedures or treatment and rehabilitativeoccupational training or retraining.Whenever an injured person claims entitlement to rehabilitationbenefits, the insurer or self-insurer responsible for paying personalinjury protection benefits to such injured person shall be responsible forrehabilitation procedures or treatment and rehabilitative occupationaltraining or retraining for the injured person in accordance with thefollowing standards:

      (a)   A procedure or treatment, whether or not involving surgery, shall berecognized and medically accepted;

      (b)   A course of occupational training or retraining shall be arecognized form of training and be reasonable and appropriate for theparticular case;

      (c)   A procedure, treatment or training shall contribute substantially torehabilitation; and

      (d)   The cost of a procedure, treatment or training shall be reasonablein relation to its probable rehabilitation effects.
