Chapter 41.--INTOXICATING LIQUORS AND BEVERAGES
Article 4.--BONDED WAREHOUSES AND RELATED PROVISIONS

      41-406.   Summary detention of liquor; power of director.It shall be lawful for the director, or for any agent of the director,to detain any package containing or supposed to contain such alcoholicliquor when he has reason to believe that the tax imposed by law upon thesame has not been paid in full, or that the same is being or has beenremoved from any bonded warehouse, or has been received and transportedinto the state of Kansas in violation of the law; and every such cask orpackage may be held by him at a safe place until it shall be determinedwhether the property so detained is liable by law to be proceeded againstfor forfeiture; but such summary detention shall not continue in any caselonger than forty-eight hours without process of law.
