Chapter 46.--LEGISLATURE
Article 10.--INVESTIGATING COMMITTEES; COMPULSORY PROCESS

      46-1008.   Subpoenas; time of issuance; preparation and signing; service; contents.(a) Service of a subpoena or subpoena duces tecum requiring theattendance of a person at a hearing of an investigating committee shallbe made at least three (3) days prior to the date of the hearing unlessa shorter period of time is authorized by majority vote of all of themembers of the investigating committee in a particular instance when, intheir opinion, the giving of three (3) days notice is not practicable.Subpoenas and subpoenas duces tecum authorized to be issued underthis section may be preparedand signed by the chairperson or vice-chairperson of the investigating committeeor such other person as is designated by such committee. Selection of theperson to serve the same shall be designated by such chairperson, vice-chairpersonor such other person as is designated by such committee.

      (b)   Every subpoena or subpoena duces tecum issued underauthority of this section shall cite article10 of chapter 46 of Kansas Statutes Annotated and give general informationin the subpoena, or by attachments thereto, of the subject underinquiry, study or investigation concerning which testimony is required.
