Chapter 46.--LEGISLATURE
Article 11.--LEGISLATIVE POST AUDIT

      46-1103.   Division of post audit; within legislative branch; supervisionby post auditor; budget; compensation of employees.There is hereby established the division of post audit within thelegislative branch of the government. The division of post audit shallbe under the direct supervision of the post auditor in accordance withpolicies adopted by the legislative post audit committee. Employees inthe division of post audit shall be in the unclassified service, shallreceive such compensation as is provided under this act and shall becovered by the state group health plan and Kansas public employeesretirement system to the same extent as other state employees. Employeesof the division of post audit shall receive travel expenses andsubsistence expenses and allowances as provided for other stateemployees. Employees in the division of post audit shall be employed byand be responsible to the post auditor who shall fix the compensation ofeach such employee subject to approval of the legislative post audit committeeand within budget and appropriations therefor. The annual budget requestof the division shall be prepared by the post auditor and the post auditorshall present it to the legislative post audit committee. The committeeshall make any changes it desires in said budget request and then shalltransmit it to the legislative coordinating council. Such council shallmake any changes it desires in such budget request and upon approval ofthe budget request by the council, the post auditor shall submit it to thedirector of the budget as other budget requests are submitted.
