Chapter 46.--LEGISLATURE
Article 8.--PREFILING OF BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS

      46-802.   Same; numbering of bills and resolutions;filing; copies; charges for; list of bills and resolutions, open topublic.The secretary of the senate and the chief clerk of the house ofrepresentatives shall instruct the revisor of statutes regarding theappropriate numbering of prefiled billsand resolutions. In accordance with such instruction the revisor of statutesshall giveeach prefiled bill and resolution itsappropriate number before delivery of a copy to the division of printing. Theoriginals of all prefiled bills and resolutions shall be in thepossession of thesecretary of the senate, if a senate bill or resolution, or the chief clerkof the house of representatives, if a house bill orresolution. Uponthe prefiling of any bill orresolution under the provisions of this act, the secretary of thesenate, if a senate bill or resolution, or the chief clerk of the house ofrepresentatives, if a house bill or resolution, shallmake copies thereof available to any person, upon request, at a cost of$.50 per page until the same have been printed, as providedherein. All moneys received under this section from such charges shall beremitted to the state treasurer in accordancewiththe provisions of K.S.A. 75-4215, and amendments thereto. Upon receipt of eachsuch remittance, the statetreasurer shalldeposit the entire amount in the state treasury to thecredit of the legislative specialrevenue fund. The secretary of the senate, in the case of senatebills and resolutions, and the chief clerkof the house of representatives, in the case of house bills or resolutions,shall maintain a current list, by title andsponsor, of all bills and resolutions which have been prefiled, and such listsshall be open to public inspection.
