Chapter 47.--LIVESTOCK AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS
Article 12.--DISPOSAL OF DEAD ANIMALS

      47-1207.   Vehicle permits; application; fee; posting on vehicles.(a) Application for a permit for a vehicle, or vehicles, to be used in thetransportation of carcasses of domestic animals or packing house refuse onpublic highways shall be made to the commissioner on forms provided by thecommissioner. Each such application shall set forth: (1) The type, make andyear modelof each vehicle, (2) the area of proposed operations, (3) the name and addressof the disposal plant or the disposal plants where proposed deliveriesare to be made and (4) such other information as the commissioner mayrequire.

      (b)   Each such application shall be accompanied by a fee in an amount setby the Kansas animal health board and adopted by rules and regulations of thecommissioner of not more than $75 for each suchvehicle.The fee established by this subsection on the day preceding the effectivedateof this act shall continue in effect until a different fee is set as providedunder this subsection.

      (c)   The permit for each vehicle used in the transportation upon publichighways of the carcasses of domestic animals or packing house refuse, orapproved evidence of such permit, shall be attached to such vehicles ina conspicuous place on the left side of the cab.
