Chapter 47.--LIVESTOCK AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS
Article 6.--PROTECTION OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS

      47-653f.   Same; payment of owner; limitations, conditions andprocedure.On presentation to the livestock commissioner of acceptable evidencethat disposition of such swine has been made in the prescribed manner, the owner of suchswine shall be entitled to indemnity, to be paid by the state, in an amountequal to the amount of indemnity paid by the federal government for suchdestruction of swine. Such indemnification bythe state shall not exceed $40 per head forgrade swine and shall not exceed $60 perhead for purebred swine. Indemnities shallnot be paid on swine which have been brought or moved into Kansas inviolation of the import regulations of this state, and indemnity shall notbe paid on any swine which have been allowed to mingle with swine sobrought or moved into Kansas.

      Indemnification payments shall be made from legislativeappropriations for such purpose to the livestock commissioner. The director ofaccounts and reports is herebyauthorized and directed to draw warrants upon the state treasurer for theamounts and for the purposes provided herein upon duly executed vouchersapproved by the livestock commissioner.
