Chapter 48.--MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Article 9.--EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FOR DISASTERS

      48-905a.   Division of emergency management, establishment.(a) The division of emergency preparedness within theoffice oftheadjutant generalis hereby abolished and there is hereby established within the office ofthe adjutant general a division of emergency management. To the extentprovided in this act, all of the powers, duties and functions of suchdivision of emergency preparedness are hereby transferred to and conferred andimposed uponthe division of emergency management. The division of emergencymanagement and the powers, duties and functions thereof shall beadministered, by the adjutantgeneral, who shall be the chief administrative officer thereof, under thesupervision of the governor.

      (b)   Whenever the division of emergency preparedness within the office of theadjutant general, or words of like effect, is referred to or designated bya statute, contract or other document, such reference or designation shallbe deemed to apply to the division of emergency management.

      (c)   The division of emergency management shall be a continuation ofthe division of emergency preparedness within the office of the adjutantgeneral as thesame existed prior to the effective date of this act.
