Chapter 48.--MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Article 9.--EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FOR DISASTERS

      48-916.   Authority to accept services, gifts, grants and loans.(a) Whenever the federal government or any agency or officer thereof offers tothe state, or through the state to any politicalsubdivisionthereof, services, equipment, supplies, materials or funds by way of gift,grant or loan, for purposes of emergency management, thestate, actingthrough the governor or such political subdivision, acting with the consentof the governor and through its executive officer or governing body, mayaccept such offer and upon such acceptance the governor of the state orexecutive officer or governing body of such political subdivision mayauthorize any officer of the state or of the political subdivision, as thecase may be, to receive such services, equipment, supplies, materials orfunds on behalf of the state or such political subdivision, and subject tothe terms of the offer and the rules and regulations, if any, of the agencymaking the offer.

      (b)   Whenever any person, firm or corporation offers tothe state orto any political subdivision thereof, services, equipment, supplies,materials or funds by way of gift, grant or loan, for purpose of emergencymanagement, the state, acting through the governor, orsuch politicalsubdivision, acting through its executive officer or governing body, mayaccept such offer and upon such acceptance the governor of the state orexecutive officer or governing body of such political subdivision mayauthorize any officer of the state or of the political subdivision, as thecase may be, to receive such services, equipment, supplies, materials orfunds on behalf of the state or such political subdivision, subject to theterms of the offer.

      (c)   If an agreement pursuant to which an interjurisdictional disasteragency is established and functions so provides, such agency may accept,administer, utilize and expend grants, gifts or other assistance in thesame manner provided for the state and political subdivisions insubsections (a) and (b).
