Chapter 48.--MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Article 9.--EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FOR DISASTERS

      48-919.   Employees, division of emergency management; expenses.The adjutant general, as the chief administrative officer of thedivision of emergency management, is hereby authorized toemploy anemergency management programs' administrator, a planningofficer and suchtechnical, professional, clerical, stenographic and other personnel and maymake such expenditures within the appropriation therefor, or from otherfunds made available to the adjutant general for the purposeof emergency management, as may be necessary to carry out the purposesof this act.Such employees shall be within the classified service and theircompensation shall be determined as provided by the Kansas civil serviceact. The adjutant general and such employees may be reimbursed fortheiractual and necessary travel and other expenses incurred inconnectionwith their official duties under this act, subject to the applicableprovisions of article 32 of chapter 75 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated,and amendments thereto.
