Chapter 53.--NOTARIES PUBLIC AND COMMISSIONERS
Article 1.--NOTARIES PUBLIC

      53-102.   Application; oath; bond; filings required.Every person, before entering upon the duties of a notary public, shallfile with the secretary of state an application for appointment as a notarypublic, which shall also include an oath of office and a good andsufficient bond to the state of Kansas in the sum of $7,500,with one or more sureties to be approved by the secretaryof state. The bond shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance ofall notarial acts in accordance with law. Every person, beforereceiving appointment as a notarypublic, shall alsofile with the secretary of state the officialsignature and an impression of the seal to be used by the notarypublic.
