Chapter 58.--PERSONAL AND REAL PROPERTY
Part 6.--MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
Article 25.--LANDLORDS AND TENANTS

      58-2573.   Inapplicability of act.The provisions of this act shall not: (a)   Apply to or affect any validrental agreement entered into prior to the effective date of this act, norshallit apply to or affect any conduct or transaction of the parties to suchrental agreement, if such conduct or transaction is in accordance with andpursuant to such rental agreement; but the provisions of this act shallapply to and govern any renewal, extension or modification of any suchrental agreement, where such renewal, extension or modification is effectedon or after the effective date of this act; or

      (b)   apply to any person or persons who enter and remain in a dwelling unitwithout a rental agreement and without the landlord's knowledge and such personknows that such person is not authorized or privileged to do so and an order toleave has been personally communicated to such person by the landlord. Suchperson or persons may be prosecuted pursuant to K.S.A. 21-3721, and amendmentsthereto.
