Chapter 59.--PROBATE CODE
Article 29.--CARE AND TREATMENT FOR MENTALLY ILL PERSONS

      59-2970.   Transportation.The court may issue orders providing for thetransportation of patients as necessary to effectuate theprovisions of this act. All orders of ex parte emergencycustody, temporary custody, referral or treatment may authorize arelative or other suitable person to transport the individualnamed in the order to the place of detention or treatmentspecified in the order. All orders for transportation shall beserved by the person transporting the individual named in theorder upon the person in charge of the place of detention ortreatment or such person's designee and due return of executionthereof shall be made to the court. A female being transportedshall be accompanied by a female attendant, unless she isaccompanied by an adult relative. An individual shall not betransported in a marked police car or sheriff's car if othermeans of transportation are available. The least amount ofrestraint necessary shall be used in transporting the patient.
