Chapter 59.--PROBATE CODE
Article 29.--CARE AND TREATMENT FOR MENTALLY ILL PERSONS

      59-2975.   Unauthorized absence; procedure.If any involuntary patient leaves the place ofthe patient's detention or treatment without the authority of thehead of the treatment facility, the head of the treatmentfacility shall notify the sheriff of the county in which thetreatment facility is located of the involuntary patient'sunauthorized absence and request that the patient be taken intocustody and returned to the treatment facility. If oralnotification is given, it shall be confirmed in writing as soonthereafter as reasonably possible.
