Chapter 60.--PROCEDURE, CIVIL
Article 22.--LIS PENDENS AND JUDGMENT LIENS ON REAL PROPERTY

      60-2204.   Release of certain liens on real property resulting fromjudgments or decrees of divorce; written consent required on support rightsassigned to secretary of social and rehabilitation services; filing; effect.Whenever a judgment or decree of divorce has been made or subsequentlybecomes a lien on real property in favor of the minor child or children ofthe person holding legal title to such real property, the parent, legalguardian or other person having legal custody of such minor child orchildren may release such lien on said real property on behalf of suchminor child or children. If the support rights accruing under such judgmentor decree of divorce have been assigned to the secretary of social andrehabilitation services pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 39-709, such lienmay not be released without the written consent of the secretaryor the secretary's designee. Such release shall be filed in the office of theclerk of the district court in which the journal entry of such judgment wasfiled pursuant to K.S.A. 60-2202, and shall be filed in the office ofregister of deeds of any county in which said real property is situated.Any such release made pursuant to this section shall be binding upon suchminor child or children.
