Chapter 60.--PROCEDURE, CIVIL
Article 3.--PROCESS

      60-305a.   Process agents for motor commoncarriers.Every individual, partnership, association or corporation engaged in thebusiness of transportation as a common carrier,whichis subject to regulation by the state corporation commission, doing businessin this state shall designate some person residing in this state on whomall process and notices issued by any court of record may be served. Inevery case such individual, partnership, company or corporation shall filea certificate of the appointment and designation of such person in the officeof the state corporation commission or as required pursuant to 49 U.S.C.11506. The service of the process upon theperson so designated, in any civil action, shall be deemed and held to beas effectual and complete as if service of such process were made upon thepresident or other chief officer of such individual, partnership,company or corporation. Any individual, partnership, company or corporationmay revoke the appointment and designation of such person upon whom processmay be served, by appointing any other person qualified as above specifiedand filing a certificate of such appointment. Every second or subsequentappointment shall also designate the person whose place is filled by suchappointment. If any such individual, partnership, company or corporationfails to designate and appoint such person, as required by this section,such process may be served in any county as provided by provisions of article3 of chapter 60 of Kansas Statutes Annotated, and amendments thereto.
